The top of this beauty is a solid slab of Western Red Cedar with double live edges, measuring over 2-1/4″ thick. The base is constructed of 2×6 Mahogany. The cracks and knots have all been filled with clear epoxy. The larger cracks also employ structural “Dutchmen” or butterflies to ensure the cracks stay put. We also think they look cool. No stains were applied, just the natural beauty of the wood shows through. The whole table was finished with a water-borne satin finish acrylic. Overall size is 85″ long x 29.5″ tall. The width varies from 38″ to 43″.
Like most things made of real wood, you have to see this in person to appreciate how the grain lights up depending on your viewing angle. While this is a one-of-a-kind piece, other materials and sizes are available. Please inquire for other options.
